Bloomingdale Village Meetings

Date:  3rd Tuesday

Time:  7:30 PM

Located in Van Buren County, Bloomingdale was founded by Davis Haven and Henry Killefer, both from Ohio, in 1855.  It was given a post office on January 17, 1856, and closed on April 4, 1856, but restored, with Rufus M. Brown as postmaster, on May 24, 1856.  Platted by William Killefer and George W. Haven in 1870, the year the Michigan Central Railroad came through.  Bloomingdale was incorporated as a village in 1881, and so named by Davis Haven because it was a blooming valley.
